We're glad you stopped by to visit us online. Many of our church guests make their first visit with us on our web site. We hope that you'll return to this page often and consider joining us at the church sometime.
Traditional worship and Christian service are the foundations of our church. We gather as a community of faith, listening for God's call to us, and affirming God's saving Grace through the love of Jesus Christ. We then go out into the world, to serve wherever God calls us.
Our congregation includes people from all walks of life and many faith backgrounds.
If you are new to APC, you might start your web visit by following the Welcome Visitors link and then learn more about our worship and activities by using the menu to the left.
Thanks for coming by. We hope to see you among us soon.

Summer Preaching Series
"Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, and ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." - Jeremiah 6:16
A growing number of Christians are turning to early spiritual practices as a means of tending their souls. In a fragmented world with so many suffering from spiritual disorientation, centuries-old faith disciplines such as fixed-hour prayer, fasting, tithing, sacred meals, Sabbath keeping and pilgrimage are helping to create in us an everyday sacredness and sense of the holy.
APC's Pastors and Liturgical Arts Committee are pleased to offer a six-week Summer Preaching Series through August 2 entitled "Ancient Practices." Together, we'll look for the ancient paths taken by the people of God and ask how walking in those ways might bring rest for our souls and direction to our modern lives.
The schedule is as follows:
| July 12 |
Fasting |
Isaiah 58:3-10, Matthew 6:16-18 |
| July 19 |
Pilgrimage |
|
| July 26 |
Tithing |
|
| August 2 |
Daily Prayer |
Psalm 13, Matthew 6:5-13 |
Please note that on July 19, for the theme of Pilgrimage, a walk at the APC Prayer Labyrinth will be held between worship services (from 9:30 to 11:00 am). Pilgrimage can be a long journey towards a place of religious significance, towards salvation, or a search for spiritual enlightenment. Historical accounts claim that people who could not afford to travel to distant destinations often substituted labyrinth walks for such travel. All are invited to experience and explore the Labyrinth as a path towards peace, on July 19, or at any time.

Parish Nursing
Parish nursing is an idea born out the understanding of the healing ministry of the church and the need to return to health care that focuses on the whole person to emphasize wellness, disease prevention, and health promotion. Parish nursing plays many important roles in congregations including health education, promoting healthy lifestyles, resourcing and helping with specific issues such as mental health and addiction. Anyone interested in a conversation about the possibility of beginning a Parish Nursing ministry at APC are invited to meet during the 9:45-10:45am hour on Sunday, July 5 in Dr. Wagner's office. For more information: www.pcusa.org/nationalhealth/parishnursing. Those with backgrounds in health care are especially encouraged to attend!

Long Range Strategic Vision
This plan was prepared through the hard work of our Strategic Planning Committee and developed with input from the congregation, Presbytery staff, local demographic trends and the Session. Our long term plan intends to prove a framework and direction for the course of the church over the next ten years so that all efforts are coordinated and enhance one another. The Session will review and refresh the plan annually so that it becomes a living document to help us grow and face new challenges.
