 Childrens' Ministries

At APC, we love the "joyful noise" and energy that children bring to our church. The childrens' ministry committee, friends, and APC staff are enthusiastically working hard to provide the most engaging and fulfilling Christian education possible. Here are some details explaining the variety of programs available for children---preschool through 5th grade (youth group begins in 6th grade).

    Kinderkirk and Worship Class

Kinderkirk is offered during both worship services on Sunday  mornings to provide worship education for children age 3 through Kindergarten (and First Graders until March).

After the Children's Moment in Worship the children are escorted by the Kinderkirk teachers and volunteer parents to their designated classrooms.
8:30 am service: Solid Rock Theater, 1st floor across from the elevator
11:00 am service: preschoolers in rooms 105 and 106; Kindergartners (and First Graders until January) are in room 108.

First Grade Worship and Sacraments Class
All First Graders at APC are invited to an 8-week class that is usually held during January and February during the 11am service. The class starts right after the children's message (around 11:15 am) until 12 noon each Sunday. The students will study the order of worship, learn special prayers, explore Bible stories and learn the importance of the sacraments. At the end of class, the graduates will be recognized in worship and present their own homemade communion bread for the congregation's communion.  After this, the First Graders will begin attending worship for the entire service.

    Annual Children's Christmas Pageant

Calling all Marys, Josephs, wise men, sheep and angels!!  The Children's Christmas Pageant is a beloved APC tradition. No need to sign up or rehearse---just bring your child to church dressed as his or her favorite nativity story character. Please...no staffs or glitter---thanks!  Our pageant director and a team of volunteers will herd your little ones in the right direction (more or less---the chaos is part of the fun!) while you enjoy the Christmas story told by our dear little ones. Don't forget your camera!
